About Testarossa Web Design

Testarossa Web Design is headquartered in Vacaville, Northern California. The company was founded in 2003 by Trena D.M. Tusé, M.S., who has a background in web design and development as well as pharmaceutical sciences, having worked at Roche Palo Alto (Palo Alto, CA) and SRI International (Menlo Park, CA) in pharmaceutical discovery R&D.

The company’s projects are guided by standards-based criteria for website development and implementation, and integrate the philosophy that anything worth doing is worth doing right.

Standards-based website development refers to adherence to W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) specifications, which impact how web content is designed and developed. Adherence to these guidelines is just as important as following hardware and software standards in the computer industry, and helps ensure that web developers "speak the same language" and can maintain efficient interoperability.

In our web projects we emphasize the use of semantic markup. We also separate textual content from presentational elements (layout, colors, fonts, etc.) using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

Why?

First of all, this makes your website "lighter" so that it loads faster and uses less bandwidth (saving you money as your website grows!).

Second, using CSS you can easily update your website's look because your text and presentation are contained in separate files. If you like, you can change the look of your website with each season.

Third, it is the best guarantee that your website will be ready for the future. Since the late '90s most web browsers have been compliant with web standards. We build and update websites that are ready for future versions of web browsers, mobile devices and gadgets yet to be imagined. Making your website standards-based today makes sure you don't have to start from scratch tomorrow!
